Nina B: Stitched Flowers

Happy Saturday!

I've been making August birthday cards.  I SO love this stamp set - Stitched Flowers!  It was designed by Nina B and is available through The Craft's Meow.
I knew right away when I saw this set that I wanted to paper piece the image.  I stamped the flowers on 4 pieces of white cardstock.  Then, stamped the image 5 more imes on different colored patterned papers, all from a paper pack from Lilybee designs called "Double Dutch".  Then, stamped the flowers on 4 more coordinating colored cardstocks for the center button. Lots of stamping - definitely worth the effort.
I ran the patterned images through my Xyron to create stickers, then cut out each flower, leaf and button and pieced it on the stamped white base image.
To create the stitches for the button, I used white gel pen.  Initially, I was going to actually use thread but I admit I was tired from all the cutting.  Plus going through 4 layers of cardstock seemed like a very frustrating proposition. Although thinking about it now I could have used a piercer to make a bit easier - next time I guess.

The finished image was matted on PTI Pure Poppy cardstock.  The next layer is PTI white cardstock that was embossed with a PTI embossing plate - linen.

This gave me 4 cards all slightly different and the exact number of girly birthday cards I need this month.  Gotta love that.  I actually need to make another set because this card makes a great any occasion card.

Hi Everyone!

Today, we have a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet - Scallops!  I used Celeste Amberglow "Owl Always Love You" for my card.  She is part of the Honeycloud Teens collection created by PollyCraft and available through Little Miss Muffet.

I've had this image colored since the end of May and she has been waiting for the perfect card.
I used Lily Bee "Handmade" designer papers, my Grand Nestabilties Circle and and Scalloped Circle dies to create this shape card.  Added some golden yellow bakers twine (The Twinery) and a PTI vintage button.

Digi Garden - Courtney in Tartan

Happy Friday,

Last week, I made Top 5 at Poodle Parlour and the prize was 5 digis from Digi Garden.  This is Courtney in Tartan one of the images I chose.  Isn't she cute!  When Jacqui sent the digis she said Digi Garden was starting challenges as of August 1st - Use any Digi Garden image is the theme this month.

I also used this weeks sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I thought it would be fun to play along with this challenge too.  My friend Laura was just added to their design team - Yay Laura.
The patterned papers are My Minds Eye "Dwell" and I colored her tartan to match the plaid paper.  Such a fun image to color.

Little Miss Muffet: Stages Caterpillar

Hi All,

We have a new release at Little Miss Muffet today - lots of new images and sales too!  New Hatters, new Pollycraft images and a fundraiser for the Monarch Butterfly!

Barbara's daughter was reading the book Monarch Magic! by Lynn Rosenblatt and in the back of the book there were fundraiser ideas for the Monarch Butterfly.  Her daughter's initial idea was to have a bake sale, but since it was 109F outside, Barbara suggested they draw some images to sell instead.  So that is what they did.

There are several images, Barbara's daughter drew the stages of the butterfly and Barbara added Festive Butterfly to join in the fun.

It comes as a package deal, for each sold during August, $2 will be donated to The Monarch Butterfly Fund!

I used "Stages Caterpillar" for my card today.  Unfortunately, I did not look up what a monarch caterpillar looked like before coloring.  The monarch caterpillar is striped like this...
Mine must be a really young larva.

I had gotten some burlap a few weeks ago and thought this would be a perfect card to use it on.  Lots of texture to this card.

The cardstock is PTI Ripe Avocado and Chocolate.  I used PTI "Vineyard" impression plate and patterned cardstock "Turning a New Leaf".
Supplies --

Tools: PTI Vineyard impression plate
