Valentine - Washi Tape

Hi All,

Today, I have this years Valentine going out to family and homebound this week.  I was excited to use Washi tape for the first time.  I won this trio of Washi tape in a challenge at Marker Pop back in November.  They have an awesome selection, however when I chose my 3 rolls I went for a set since I had never used it before.

The grid paper stamp is from Taylored Expressions.  The verse is from Biblical Impressions "And His Name" one of my favorite sheets of scripture stampsI've gotten a lot of use out of them this last year.

The base cardstock is PaperTrey Ink White.  The heart accent is a Cricut cut out, then I added a gemI made 25 of these cards in only a couple hours.  Using the Cricut to cut out the hearts all at once was a huge time saver.  How did I get along without the Cricut?

The layout was inspired by Retro Sketches #45 - Love their CAS sketches.

Little Miss Muffet - I Heart Chester

We have a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet - a sketch challenge!  I used the rubber stamp "I Heart Chester" by Pollycraft for my card today.

Here is the sketch:

Usually I'm pretty literal with sketches, but with this one it seems like I deviated a bit.  The torn paper with text behind was inspired by a fabulous card my friend Chris made for her blog, which I just loved.

A few weeks ago, I bought a Cricut Mini to help my niece with a school project.  They (the sophomores) needed to make locker signs for regional competition - the signs turned out great and I wondered how did I get along without a Cricut for so many years?!?  I've been using it here and there on cards now, usually when I don't have a shape or need a quick mat for my largest punch, like on Monday's card.  Anyway, I used the Cricut on this card to created the hexagon and the mat - to carry through the hexagon pattern in the paper.

The Angel Company - Music Washes

Happy Monday!

This is a card I made for a friend last week.  I put a care package together for her last week.  As soon as I saw this image "Music Washes" in The Angel Company 2011 catalog, I thought of Sarah.  We grew up together and they had a beautiful baby grand pianoHer mom played beautifully and Sarah played as well.

I was looking through my patterned paper specifically for sheet music to go with this image and found Lilybee Designs "Head over Heels", which I thought was perfect.  All 3 patterned papers are from "Head over Heels".
The image is colored with Copic markers, the background is green-blue chalk and the edges were sponged with Cognac and Burnt Umber Palette ink.
